This book by Monica Ferrarini showcases two of my paintings.
Here’s what she wrote about my works:
“His paintings are the result of a great representative ability that combines creative flair with a unique figurative ability and the conscious use of light. The effectiveness of the represented subjects and their expressive potential immediately triggers an empathy with the spectator, who feels taken and immersed in atemporal dimensions.
Throughout his whole production we can see a love for tradition and explicit references to historical movements such as German Romanticism, French and German Impressionism.
Furthermore, there’s an extreme stylistic virtuosity in the subjects, in the modulations of the light, in the chromatic stamp and the structural setting.
In front of a contemporary landscape where we often get the impression that traditional techniques are lost, Jurgen Marke demonstrates, with his pictorial language, to be able to combine tradition with a contemporary and emotional approach, which on one side appreciates and enhances aesthetic beauty, and on the other captures the essence of pureness. In each canvas you can feel the empathy among man and nature, becoming his favoured and predominant subject. One of the most significant aspects of this sensitive Artist is the ability to enrich each work with a deep meaning of introspection."
Art Capital is coming home to the Grand Palais, a major event this year!
I will exhibit two paintings at the Salon des Artistes Indépendants, as well as one watercolour at the Salon Dessin et Peinture à l'Eau.
The exhibition(s) are open to the public from 19th to 22nd February.
